FAQ
Top 4 Frequently Asked Questions
Can the indoor saunas be placed outside under covered patio?
Comparing 906MH and 906MB saunas, 906MB is made of basswood for covered outdoor use. For a fuller sauna experience, opt for 906MH, with an extra front panel heater.
Our four wood options for outdoor saunas: Red Cedar = Mahogany > Basswood > Fir in durability. All saunas endure harsh weather. Basswood, Mahogany, and Red Cedar resist heat and moisture best.
Fir is a stable, decay-resistant softwood.
Basswood, a lightweight hardwood, is cost-effective and hypoallergenic.
Mahogany, a durable, insect-resistant hardwood, has a reddish-brown hue.
Red Cedar, also robust, resists decay and insects, with a pleasant aroma.
Select wood based on your preferences, budget, and sauna needs.
Hemlock, Basswood, Fir, Mahogany, Red Cedar, which sauna is better for me?
When you choose between the 906MH and 906MB, you will find that the 906MB uses basswood in addition to not having a heated front door. Basswood is the better choice if you want to put the sauna under a patio with a cover. And there is no heater for the front door to prevent moisture. If you don't care about wood, you can choose the 906MH because it has an extra heating panel on the front door to get an all-around sauna experience.
When you are shopping for an outdoor sauna, you will find that we have 4 types of wood: Fir, Basswood, Mahogany and Red cedar. If we rank them in order of durability, the results are as follows: Red cedar = Mahogany > Basswood > Fir. Of course, all saunas are sturdy and can withstand heavy storms and snow directly. Basswood, Mahogany and red cedar are better suited to withstand heat and moisture without warping or cracking.
Fir is a type of softwood but relatively strong and durable. And Fir is lighter in color with small tight knots that give its rustic appearance. It is known for its stability and resistance to decay, making it a popular choice for outdoor construction projects. When used in saunas, fir provides a warm and inviting aesthetic.
On the other hand, basswood is a type of hardwood that is lighter in weight compared to fir. It has a pale yellow to light brown color with a fine and even texture, lack of knot. Ext durability testing conducted by the research and development department has revealed that basswood is both highly stable and cost-effective for long-term use. Moreover, basswood is hypoallergenic, making it an ideal option for individuals with sensitive skin.
Mahogany is a hardwood with a rich, reddish-brown color. It is known for its durability, strength, and resistance to decay and insect damage. On the other hand, red cedar is also a durable wood with natural oils that provide it with inherent resistance to decay, rot, and insects. It has a distinctive reddish-brown color with a pleasant aroma.
Ultimately, the choice of wood depends on personal preference, budget, aesthetics, and specific needs for the sauna.
How long does it take to heat to 149°F?
The 149F limit is an ETL safety standard built into the control panel. The 149 setting is perfect for prolonged infrared therapy sessions (up to 60 min.) while also taking user safety into account.
The temperature shown on the control panel represents the surface temperature of the infrared heating plate. If it displays 149F, the actual room temperature may have reached 180F. However, this is also dependent on the initial ambient temperature.
Ignoring the environment, the rate at which the sauna heats up is directly related to the power of the heating panels, but inversely related to the room of the sauna space. As a general guideline, it typically takes around 20 minutes to heat up from room temperature to 149F. However, if we consider the current temperature conditions, it will only take 15 minutes on a hot summer day and can take up to 30 minutes on a cold winter day. Additionally, the frequency of opening the door affects the temperature inside the sauna.
A good infrared sauna will not overheat your lungs. Ideally, you go inside when it’s only 25-28C (77-83F) and let the heat slowly rise while you sit inside. That way your body adapts to the rising heat. Once you start sweating, around the 37C mark (98.6F), you only need to stay inside a little while longer. Most people come out between 42-50C (108-122F).
What are the EMF readings of your saunas?
Maxwell saunas and Wearwell outdoor saunas feature ultra-low EMF heaters, with readings from 0.1 to 1.0mG. These EMF levels, comparable to cell phones, are much lower than the 10~30mG range in other saunas. Our Maxwell infrared heater is patented for low electric field and EMF radiation, integrating both ELF electric field and low EMF without shielding material.

While we aim to align stock with demand, occasional product shortages may occur. If a product is unavailable, contact us, and we'll notify you when it's back in stock.
Does your sauna models come with near/mid/far infrared?
Our sauna exclusively uses far infrared (FIR), the most commonly used type in saunas. FIR is effective for treating superficial soft tissue injuries, like contusions and thinner soft tissue areas. These waves closely match our body's own heat, penetrating and activating sweat glands, raising core body temperature for deep heat therapy.
What kind of electrical source will I need and what size fuse?
Our saunas, except for 904VS/904VR 4-Person Outdoor Saunas, all saunas use the US 60HZ/120V/15A universal power supply, the length of the power cord is 3 meters (10 feet).
The 904VS/904VR 4-Person Outdoor Saunas is 60HZ/120V/20A, it is very safe to use 110V-120V power supply, and 30Amps circuit breaker required.
Does it come fully assembled? If not, what will I be responsible for?
The frame of the sauna is divided into 6 wooden boards assembled, respectively front and back, left and right, top and bottom boards, motor equipment and carbon heating panels and glass are installed on the boards.
You just need to put all the boards together in the order according to the instructions and plug in the circuit connectors between the boards and you are ready to use.
A strong person could install most infrared saunas alone. But two people can do it much more easily if they work together.
According to the honest feedback from customers, they will be installed in 20-30 minutes, we are very proud of the ease of installation.
How long does it take to heat to 149°F?
The 149℉ limit is an ETL safety standard built into the control panel. The 149℉ setting is perfect for prolonged infrared therapy sessions (up to 60 min.) while also taking user safety into account.
The temperature shown on the control panel represents the surface temperature of the infrared heating plate. If it displays 149°F, the actual room temperature may have reached 180°F. However, this is also dependent on the initial ambient temperature.

However, if we consider the current temperature conditions, it will only take 15 minutes on a hot summer day and can take up to 30 minutes on a cold winter day. Additionally, the frequency of opening the door affects the temperature inside the sauna.
What are the EMF readings of your saunas?
The EMF readings of our saunas are between 0.1~1.0mG for Maxwell saunas and Wearwell outdoor saunas, and between 10~30mG for all other saunas. However, there is no need to be concerned about this non-ionizing radiation, as it is comparable to that emitted by electronic devices such as cell phones. This is considerably lower when compared to the levels of 100+ mG often found in many other sauna brands, regardless of the particular model.
A U.S. Patent for an infrared sauna with low electric field and low electromagnetic wave radiation has been registered for our Maxwell infrared heater. Our technology integrates both extremely low frequency (ELF) electric field and low electromagnetic field radiation (EMF) without the use of any shielding material.
Can the indoor saunas be placed outside under covered patio?
Yes, it's safe as long as the top and interior stay dry. Humidity minimally affects saunas. Weekly use with heating panels prevents moisture damage. Outdoor saunas are even more resilient with water barriers and window sealant.
Hemlock, Basswood, Fir, Mahogany, Red Cedar, which sauna is better for me?
Choose between 906MH and 906MB. 906MB uses basswood without a heated front door—ideal for covered patios. 906MH has an extra front panel heater for an all-around experience.
We offer four wood types: Red cedar = Mahogany > Basswood > Fir in terms of durability. All withstand heavy storms and snow.
Fir is strong and stable, with a rustic look.
Basswood, a lightweight hardwood, is stable and hypoallergenic.
Mahogany is a durable hardwood with a reddish-brown hue.
Red cedar, also robust, naturally resists decay, with a pleasant aroma.
Choose based on personal preferences, budget, and sauna needs.
What type of glue is used in the construction of Sauna Heat Pro saunas?
We use a non chemical furniture-grade glue that's applied in between the wooden slats. Due to the nature of our products, it's important we use glue that will not off-gas.
What are the dimensions of the whole sauna, so I can be sure it fits in my home?
The dimensions of each model are different, find the dimensions in the Main Picture and Dimensions of the Product Page of your preferred sauna.
Can I place these saunas on a carpeted area?
Except for the Airy series steam saunas can not be placed on the carpet, all other infrared saunas can.
What is the maintenance for an infrared sauna?
Sit on a towel, place one on the floor, and wipe sweat with another; no need to clean saunas. Just wash the towels between sessions. No exterior cleaning needed; we protect with a water-based film and wood wax oil. Apply Outdoor Wood Wax Oil every 6 months for Fir, once a year for others. If indoor sauna wood looks discolored, use wood wax oil as needed.

Why Infrared?
How is an infrared sauna different than a “regular sauna?”
An infrared sauna employs infrared waves to heat the body internally, in contrast to traditional saunas that heat the air to high temperatures, making it hard to breathe. Sauna Heat Pro's infrared saunas use Carbon Fiber heated elements for a gentle and comfortable sweating experience.
Infrared waves, also known as photobiomodulation, have medical applications, positively impacting neural stimulation, wound healing, and pain reduction. Infrared saunas are cost-effective, drawing less than 15 amps, and costing about 20-30 cents per hour to operate, making them energy-efficient and economical. Many customers find it costs around $30 per year for daily hour-long sessions.
Are infrared saunas harmful to the human body?
No, infrared waves (photobiomodulation) have long been utilized in medicine to enhance neural and nerve stimulation, expedite wound healing, and alleviate pain.
How do I use an infrared sauna?
Using an infrared sauna is straightforward. Familiarize yourself with the controls and adjust to your preferences. Here are some key tips:
- Start slow and low. Begin with lower temperatures and shorter sessions, like 110 degrees for 5-10 minutes. Adjust as you go.
- Limit sessions to under 30 minutes, even if you're experienced, to prevent excessive stress on your body. Aim for three to four sessions a week.
- Stay hydrated; bring water or electrolyte sports drinks to combat fluid loss through sweat. Avoid mixing sauna use with alcohol.
- Rinse off after the session to wash away sweat and toxins to prevent reabsorption through the skin.
What health benefits can an infrared sauna provide?
1. Improved heart health
Within minutes of sitting in an infrared sauna, your body’s natural response begins. Beads of sweat appear on your skin. Your blood vessels widen and increase blood flow. Your heart rate ticks up.
2. Soothing sore muscles
The improved blood circulation brought on by an infrared sauna session can help speed up muscle recovery following physical activity.
3. Pain relief
Researchers found that infrared sauna therapy “may be a promising method for treatment of chronic pain.”
4. Relaxation
Warming your body seems to warm your soul, too. Setting aside some sauna time may help decrease depression, anxiety and stress. Basically, think of it as a meditation session in warmer temperatures.
5. Catching ZZZs
Better sleep, which has also been linked to sauna use.
6.Fighting off illness
There’s evidence that regular sauna use can help you avoid the common cold, says Dr. Young. Saunas also reduce oxidative stress, which is associated with cardiovascular disease, cancer and degenerative diseases like dementia.
Why can't the temperature setting go higher than 149°F?
The 149F limit is an ETL safety standard built into the control panel. The 149F setting is perfect for prolonged infrared therapy sessions (up to 60 min.) while also taking user safety into account.
The temperature shown on the control panel represents the surface temperature of the infrared heating plate. If it displays 149F, the actual room temperature may have reached 180F. However, this is also dependent on the initial ambient temperature.
Can I add steam or additional heaters to an infrared sauna?
Absolutely not! Never introduce steam into your infrared sauna; it can harm the wood and electrical components. Also, never install uncertified heaters. Sauna Heat Pro saunas are designed to operate safely with their built-in heaters. Adding extra heat risks conditions like heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and dehydration.
Does infrared sauna have radiation?
Infrared saunas “radiate” heat. They do not emit “radioactivity.” Nor do they emit microwave radiation. Sauna Heat Pro infrared saunas utilize FIR (Far Infrared Radiation), not to be confused with the UV radiation in tanning beds. This infrared radiation heats your skin to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit, thus making you sweat and release toxins.
Are far infrared saunas expensive to run?
Infrared saunas are cost-effective, running on standard electrical outlets (less than 15 amps) and costing approximately 20-30 cents per hour. For daily hour-long sessions, customers typically spend about $30 per year.
Who should not use a far infrared sauna?
It is always a caution for a pregnant woman with saunas. Raising the core body temperature of a woman, especially in the first trimester can have a permanent negative effect on fetal brain development.
Anyone advised against entering a low-heat infrared sauna by a medical professional should also take caution.
However, many people in typically weakened states such as cardiac illness, diabetes or even Multiple Sclerosis have reported they can tolerate the gentle heat of a medical grade sauna, as long as they do it under a doctor’s guidance and maintain ample fresh air ventilation into the cabin.
